Use the Capture Tool to collect network packets from an online device when investigating a connectivity problem. Download the capture file for analysis after the capture stops.
Before you begin: Sign in to the company account containing the device, confirm it is online and identify the interface and traffic relevant to the problem.
Capture packets
- In RobustLink, open View All Devices and select the device's serial number.
- Open Remote Actions and select CAPTURE TOOL.
- Set the capture parameters for the investigation. The form includes interface, host, packet count, time and protocol options.
- Select START. Select STOP to finish, or wait for the capture to stop automatically.
- Select the download action for the resulting file before closing the capture window. Check your browser's downloads.
For example, choose the interface associated with the connection you are investigating, then capture only the traffic needed for that investigation.
Warning: Packet captures can contain sensitive network data. Store and share the file only with authorised people. Download the file before closing the capture window; it is deleted when the window is closed.
