Create a Custom Device Report in RobustLink

Custom Reports lets you choose which device status fields to display in a reusable report template. Use it to focus on the information needed for a task, such as checking cellular modem status, instead of reviewing the full status report. Once created, open the template from a device's Reports page to view its data.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to the RCMS company account containing your device, with permission to create reports.
  • Know whether the device runs RobustOS or RobustOS PRO; the available data fields differ between them.

Create a report template

  1. In RobustLink, select Custom Reports, then Create.
  2. Enter a Report Name and choose the device operating system under DeviceOS. Add a description if useful.
  3. Expand the categories or use the search field to find the data items you need. Select the checkboxes for those items. You can select up to 30 items per report; the left side shows the items selected.
  4. Review your choices and select Save.

For example, a RobustOS template named Cellular health example can include (Cellular1)Modem_Status to focus on the first cellular modem’s status. The Selected Items list shows the fields that will appear in the report; review that list before saving.

View the report for a device

  1. Select View All Devices and open the device by selecting its serial number.
  2. Open the Reports tab and select your report template to view the device's report data.

The following example shows a saved signal strength report for an R1511 device. It includes modem status fields for Cellular 1 and Cellular 2.

Device report showing modem status values and timestamps

Each row shows a Timestamp and the values for the selected fields. For example, a modem status report can show Ready for (Cellular1)Modem_Status. Use the Start Time and End Time fields to choose the period to review.

RobustLink also provides system default reports. You can edit or remove your own custom templates from Custom Reports; system default reports cannot be edited or deleted.
