E2C Factory Version Comparison

E2C Factory Version Comparison

Document Overview

This document elaborates on the version and licensing system of E2C Trinity Factory for domestic and overseas markets, helping users select the appropriate version efficiently.

  1. International Markets (outside Chinese Mainland): Three license tiers are available, namely Free, Core and Pro. The Free Edition is built on the architecture of the Core Edition.
  2. Chinese Mainland Market: Three license tiers are provided, including Free Edition, Standard Edition and Professional Edition. The Free Edition is developed based on the architecture of the Standard Edition.

All product editions share the same underlying software framework. Differences only lie in licensing policies and tag limits in accordance with regional market requirements. Basic data collection functions and hardware compatibility criteria are fully consistent across all versions.

Part 1: International Version – Free/Core/Pro Comparison

1. Version Definition

The international edition includes three tiered versions: Free, Core, and Pro. Each version is positioned as follows:

  • Free Edition: A free license version, suitable for scenario verification and deployment from small pilots to small and medium-sized factories.
  • Core Edition: A lightweight and cost-effective commercial version, covering conventional data acquisition scenarios from small pilots to small and medium factories.
  • Pro Edition: A high-end professional commercial version designed for large-scale commercial deployment in medium and large factories, delivering high-performance configuration and professional production efficiency analysis capabilities.

1. Free Edition

  • Entry-level free license with a maximum of 200 data collection tags and 100 SCADA configuration tags, supporting 18 mainstream industrial protocols. Suitable for small overseas sites, project pilots and internal function verification.

2. Core Edition

  • Commercial standard license, supporting up to 2000 collection tags with full protocol access and complete SCADA configuration capabilities. It meets conventional data acquisition and visualization requirements for small and medium-sized factories.

3. Pro Edition

  • High-end professional license, supporting up to 5000 collection tags. It fully enables SCADA configuration and edge-device OEE efficiency analysis, designed for large-scale and high-load commercial deployment in medium and large factories.

2. Version & Specification Comparison

💡 Description

All three editions share identical basic functions including data collection, data forwarding, and alarm management. The core differences lie in tag limits, protocol coverage, and advanced data analysis capabilities. The Core edition covers data collection and visualization for various project scales, while the Pro edition further enables exclusive advanced functions such as equipment OEE analysis.

⭐ Tag Definition

A tag refers to a physical data point of field devices, representing valid external variables exchanged between PLCs and E2C Trinity (virtual variables excluded). For example, temperature value, pressure value, and switch status each count as one tag(Datapoint).

4. International Version Selection Guide

  1. For small overseas sites and project pilots with no more than 200 tags: Choose the Free Edition to verify solutions quickly at zero cost.
  2. For small and medium-sized overseas factories with 201 to 2000 tags and SCADA configuration requirements: Choose the Core Edition. With commercial license and full protocol support, it fully meets the demands of regular projects.
  3. For medium and large factories with up to 5000 tags, SCADA configuration and OEE efficiency analysis required: Choose the Pro Edition. Its advanced capabilities are well suited for large-scale commercial deployment.
  4. For official commercial delivery overseas requiring formal commercial licenses: Select either Core or Pro based on actual tag quantity.

Part 2: China Version – Free/Standard/Professional Comparison

1. Version Definition

The domestic edition consists of three tiers: Free Edition, Standard Edition and Professional Edition. The core features of each version are described as below:

  • Free Edition: Free of charge, applicable to scenarios ranging from small pilots to small and medium-sized factories.
  • Standard Edition: A lightweight and cost-effective commercial version for general use from small pilots to small and medium-sized factories.
  • Professional Edition: A high-end commercial version designed for large-scale projects in medium and large factories, delivering high tag capacity and formal commercial licensing services.

1. Free Edition

Entry-level free license. It supports up to 300 data tags and 50 connected devices, ideal for small domestic sites, POC pilots, internal testing and commercial projects with low tag volume.

2. Standard Edition

Paid commercial license. It supports up to 2000 data tags and 50 connected devices, meeting regular data collection and configuration requirements of small and medium-sized factories.

3. Professional Edition

High-end paid commercial license. It supports up to 5000 data tags and 50 connected devices, perfectly suited for medium and large domestic factories, large-scale deployment with high tag volume and official commercial delivery projects.

2. Version & Specification Comparison

💡 Description: All three editions share the same basic functions including data collection, forwarding and alarm management. The main differences lie in tag quantity and advanced features. The Standard Edition meets various lightweight application requirements, while the Professional Edition delivers larger tag capacity and better performance.

Tag Definition: A tag refers to a data point of field devices. 200 tags stand for 200 data points, which are the total external variables exchanged between PLC and E2C Trinity (virtual variables excluded). For instance, a temperature parameter counts as one individual tag.
