E2C Field Version Comparison

E2C Field Version Comparison

Document Overview

This document elaborates on the licensing system of E2C Trinity Field for overseas markets, helping users select the appropriate version efficiently.

For international markets (regions outside the Chinese Mainland), there are three license tiers: Free, Core and Pro. The Free Edition is built on the architecture of the Core Edition.

All editions share the same underlying software framework. Differences only exist in licensing policies and tag limits in accordance with regional market rules. Basic data collection functions and hardware compatibility criteria are consistent across all versions.

1. Version Definition

  • Free: Entry-level free license with a maximum limit of 100 tags and full protocol support. It is suitable for small overseas sites, project pilots and function verification. .
  • Core: Commercial standard license, supporting up to 2000 tags with full protocol access. Compatible with hardware equipped with 2G RAM, it meets regular data collection requirements for small and medium-sized overseas projects.
  • Pro: High-end professional license, supporting up to 5000 tags and full protocols. It works with devices of 2G/8G RAM, and is designed for large-scale commercial deployment with high tag volume in medium and large overseas projects. .

2. Version & Specification Comparison

💡 Description: There are two major versions and three license tiers in total. All editions deliver identical basic functions including data collection, forwarding, alarm management and system administration. Differences are reflected in tag capacity, protocol coverage and hardware carrying capacity. The free edition is designed for low-cost project pilots, while other editions can be selected according to project scale and tag requirements.

Tag Definition: A tag stands for a data point of field devices. 200 tags mean 200 individual data points, referring to the total external variables exchanged between PLC and E2C Trinity (virtual variables are excluded). For example, a temperature parameter counts as one single tag.

4. Version Selection Guide

  1. Small overseas sites, project pilots, or projects with ≤100 tags: Choose the Free for zero-cost verification.
  2. Small/medium overseas projects with >100 tags and ≤2000 tags: Choose the Core for commercial licensing and full protocol support to meet regular project needs.
  3. Medium/large overseas projects with 2000–5000 tags and large-scale deployment: Choose the Pro to support high tag counts and 8G hardware for stable long-term operation.
  4. For official commercial deliveries requiring formal licensing: Select Core or Pro based on actual tag scale.
