How to Setup Ping Detection via Web UI

Overview

This guide explains how to configure ping detection for monitoring network connectivity on your cellular gateway device.

Prerequisites

  1. Web UI access to the device
  2. Network server addresses for ping detection
  3. WWAN (cellular) interface configured

Configuration Steps

1. Access Link Manager Settings
Navigate to Interface > Link Manager
  1. Find WWAN1 (SIM1) section
  2. Click settings icon
2. Configure Ping Detection
  1. Locate "Ping Detection Settings" section
  2. Set "Enable" toggle to ON
  3. Enter IPv4 Primary Server address
  4. Enter IPv4 Secondary Server address
  5. Save configuration

Purpose

  1. Monitors cellular network connectivity
  2. Provides health check of device's network connection
  3. Enables automatic detection of connection issues

Important Notes

  1. Primary server is tried first
  2. Secondary server is used as backup
  3. Device will use ping results to determine connection health
  4. Helps maintain reliable network connectivity

Troubleshooting

  1. Verify server addresses are correct
  2. Ensure servers respond to ping requests
  3. Check network firewall settings
  4. Monitor ping detection status in device logs
