How to Update M1000MP Module Firmware

Overview

This guide explains how to update M1000MP module ELS62 from Telit.

Prerequisites

1. Serial terminal tool to send AT command to the module, e.g. Putty, MobaXterm
   
2. Mini-USB cable for connecting M1000MP to PC
   
3. ELS62 USB driver
   
4. ELS62 firmware update execution program

Update Steps

1. Install USB driver for each COM port

Right click COM port - Update driver - Browser my computer for drivers - select the ELS62 USB driver and install

Note: please install USB driver for each COM port.

2. Check the COM port number of Modem

Select Modem - Cinterion ELS62 USB Modem - right click - properties - modem

In this example, modem use COM8, later update tool will use this COM port.

3. Double click ELS62 firmware update execution program “els62w_rev02.100_arn01.000.00_lynx_210_004_prod02sign.exe” - select the modem port - Click start

Note:

1. please make sure mini-USB cable is stable connected.
   
2. baudrate leave it alone, when use USB cable, it can automatically negotiate baudrate.

The program will indicate "Module update finished successfully" once finished updating.

Verification

Use terminal tool send AT command ATI1 to check the firmware version whether if updated successfully.
