Run a Device Comms Check in RobustLink

Use Comms Check to send a communication check to an online device and review the result in RobustLink. It can also help a person at the site identify the device by observing its USR indicator.

Before you begin: Sign in to the company account containing the device, confirm it is online and identify it by name and serial number. The Comms Check action is available on devices that support it.

Run the check

  1. In RobustLink, open View All Devices and select the device's serial number.
  2. Open Remote Actions and select COMMS CHECK.
  3. Review the Comms Check result in the action list.

On a supported device, the USR indicator flashes five times when the check is performed. A person at the site can observe it while you review the result in RCMS.

If the device is offline, restore its connection before trying the check. Some device models do not have a USR indicator and do not offer this action.
