Switch a Device Connection Type in RobustLink

Use Remote Actions to change a supported device's connection type when you need to switch its active network connection remotely.

Warning: Switching the connection can interrupt remote access. Confirm the target network is configured and available, and plan a recovery path before proceeding.
Before you begin: Sign in to the correct RCMS company, identify the device and confirm that it is online. This connection-type action is not supported on RobustOS Pro devices.

Switch the connection type

  1. In RobustLink, open View All Devices and select the device's serial number.
  2. Open Remote Actions and select CONNECTION TYPES.
  3. Choose the required connection type and follow the on-screen controls to apply it.
  4. Review the remote action result and check that the device is online using the intended connection.

For example, switch to a configured alternate connection during a planned maintenance window. Do not assume an alternate connection is usable until you have checked its settings and availability.
