Batch import lets you add multiple devices to your RCMS company account using a spreadsheet. It is useful when onboarding a fleet: prepare the device details once, import the file, and review the result in RobustLink.
Adding devices to RCMS is one part of connecting them. Each device must also have RCMS enabled and network access to the cloud. See Connect a RobustOS Router to RCMS Cloud.
For each device, enter SN, DeviceName, DeviceOS and DeviceArea, and provide at least one of MAC or IMEI. Use the operating-system and area values provided in the template. Device descriptions and tags are optional.
Example: To identify an R1520 installed at Site A, enter the following values in one row of the Data sheet:
R1520-Site-A.Site A gateway (optional).RobustOS.Australia for a device in Australia.SiteA.Replace the example name, description, area and tag with values that identify your own device. Enter its actual identifiers; do not use another device's serial number, MAC address or IMEI.
Keep serial numbers unique, use letters and numbers only, and do not leave blank rows between device entries. The template specifies a maximum of 50 characters for SN, 30 for DeviceName and 200 for DeviceDesc.
The example below shows an Add record with a Success status for an R1511 device. Use the search and filters to locate your own records.
If an entry fails, check the required fields, the device identifiers and the template instructions, correct the file, and retry the affected entries.
