Configure Passenger WiFi Client Alert Messages

Configure Passenger WiFi Client Alert Messages

Passenger WiFi can show a message to guests when they re-authenticate after reaching a Wi-Fi data or session-time limit. Configure the message so guests understand why they cannot continue their session until the allowance resets.

Before you begin: Sign in to the correct RCMS company, identify the portal devices to update and prepare any alert page images and translated message text. Devices must be online to receive updated session settings.
Warning: Saving session settings restarts the captive portal service on selected devices. Consider the effect on connected guests.

Enable the client message

  1. In RobustLink, open Passenger WiFi > Portal Manager and select the portal template.
  2. Open Devices, select the devices to update and choose SESSION SETTINGS.
  3. Turn on Enable Alert Message. Set the alert page logo and background if needed.
  4. Use EDIT LANGUAGE to set the message text for the desired language.
  5. Review the selected devices and settings, select SAVE, then review the update history.

For example, the message can tell a guest that the session time or data allowance has been exhausted. The alert is displayed when the guest re-authenticates after reaching a limit.

To configure the limits and reset time, see Configure Passenger WiFi Session Limits in RCMS.
