Use a device's Apps page in RobustLink to update an app, check installed apps, change their status or remove an app that is no longer needed. The update history shows the progress of these operations.
Before you begin: Sign in to the company account containing the device and check that it is online. Select an app and version suitable for the device and plan for any reboot.
Warning: Updating, disabling or uninstalling an app can interrupt the functions that depend on it. A reboot can temporarily interrupt device connectivity and services.
Update an app
- In RobustLink, open View All Devices and select the device's serial number.
- Open Apps, choose the app name and version, then select UPDATE.
- Choose the update and reboot timing in the dialog and confirm the operation.
- Review App Update History. After a successful update, check the app under Installed App(s).
Change status or uninstall
- On the device's Apps page, open Installed App(s).
- Use the app's enable switch to change its status. To remove an app, select it and use UNINSTALL or its delete action.
- For an uninstall, choose the timing and reboot option, then confirm. If you choose uninstall only, it is applied at the next reboot.
- Check App Update History and the installed app list for the outcome.
The running RCMS/RobustLink app cannot be disabled or uninstalled. To inspect available packages before an update, see Find Firmware and Apps in RCMS App Center.
