Reboot a Device Remotely in RobustLink

Remote Actions lets you send supported maintenance commands to a connected device through RobustLink. You can use it to reboot an online router when troubleshooting without visiting the site. After the reboot, check that the device returns online.

Warning: Rebooting temporarily interrupts the device's connections and services. Choose a suitable maintenance window and check the effect on connected equipment before proceeding.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to the correct RCMS company account with permission to perform remote actions.
  • Confirm the device is online and identify the correct device by name and serial number.
  • Place the device in a device group if it is currently in Ungrouped. See Create a Device Group in RobustLink.

Reboot the device

  1. In RobustLink, open View All Devices and select the device's serial number.
  2. Confirm the device is online and open the Remote Actions tab.
  3. Select Reboot. In the confirmation dialog, select Yes to send the reboot action, or No to cancel.

Check the result

The device may appear offline while it restarts. Allow time for it to reconnect, then check its status in View All Devices. You can also review the action status in the Remote Actions list.

If the device does not return online, check its power and network connectivity and investigate the device locally if needed.
