Upload a Custom App to RCMS App Center

Upload a custom app to App Center to make your app package available in your RCMS library for remote device management. Specify the device series and compatibility information so users can identify the intended package.

Important: An app uploaded to RCMS cannot be deleted. Check the package and its details before saving. If an app should no longer be available, it can be unpublished.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to RCMS and select your company account.
  • Obtain permission to upload custom apps. Contact the RCMS team if you need upload access.
  • Prepare the app package and confirm its intended device series, operating system and applicable firmware.

Upload a custom app

  1. Open App Center in the top navigation, then select Custom App.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Select the DeviceOS, choose the software package and device series, and enter the software name and version.
  4. Provide the applicable devices and firmware information and any relevant description or documentation.
  5. Check the information, then click Save.

The example shows a RobustOS app named Example Monitor, version 1.0.0, for the R151x series. Select the actual devices supported by your package. The example has no package selected, so Save is disabled; select your own package before saving. The example values are illustrative and do not establish compatibility for an app.

For RobustOS, the software package must use the .rpk format. If you provide a logo or documentation, follow the size limits displayed on the form.

Check the uploaded app

In Custom App, find the app and open its card to review its details and version history. Availability of the Custom App tab depends on upload permission or whether a distributor has published apps to your company.
